Hove Sewing Group was started in 2017 by Laura O’Sullivan to provide a way for people interested in sewing and dressmaking to get together and talk about their favourite hobby. Meet ups, pub socials and trips to fabric shops okay visits to various textile related exhibitions have been organised in the past few years.
A new chapter in 2025 will see sewing classes and social sewing sessions for adults with any sewing machine / sewing experience to sew together and share the joy and creative escapism of this craft.
Laura has over fifteen years of experience as an adult education teacher and dressmaker. Having worked as a photographer, jeweller and project manager she brings creativity together with organisational skills in many aspects of her working life. Currently she is a tutor at Sew Fabulous Brighton teaching adults and children, and working in preloved designer clothes shop Circles in the North Laine. Laura lives in Hove with her husband, four children and two sewing machines.
